Nematodirus

The nematodirus forecast is produced in collaboration with the parasitology dept. Liverpool Vet School, based on detailed Met Office data from weather stations across the UK. The risk of nematodirus will increase when the air temperature exceeds 11.5 °C for seven days and hatching of eggs on the pasture takes place. Peak hatch is significantly affected by field altitude compared to the weather station. At higher cooler altitudes peak hatch maybe delayed by 7 days for every 100m increase in height. Conversely earlier hatches occur at lower altitudes. South facing fields will also trigger an earlier hatch.
